Design and technology (D&T) includes food technology, graphics, textiles, the use of resistant materials such as wood and plastic, and computer-aided design and manufacture (Cad/Cam).
At Key Stage 3, we cover each branch of technology in units taught by a specialist teacher.
At GCSE, we offer two options: double-award applied manufacturing (that is, it counts as two GCSEs) and single awards in the other areas.
We also offer the new Diploma in manufacturing. The department has been closely involved with the Stratford City Project. Students from all year groups have designed and made promotional products for the project. They also design and make the costumes for the annual school play and the fashion show.
