Extended School

As an ‘extended school’, we work with local providers to offer extended services in areas such as parenting and family support, swift and easy referral to specialist services, and the community use of facilities.

Other professionals employed by the school include:

1. a welfare mentor, who focuses on the health and social issues of our students;
2. a student and community liaison manager who helps bring new students fully into school life; and
3. a community police officer, who works on wide range of aspects linked to health and safety.

We also have an established link with the University of East London and Newham Council social services department to allow their most experienced but fully-supervised trainee Social Workers to help enhance the welfare of students or parents when events outside school impact on their well-being.
