The Governing Body has the overall responsibility for making sure that the school provides the best possible education for its pupils. Together with the Head Teacher and the Senior Leadership Team, we form the leadership team of the school. Our governing body consists of 20 members:
Seven parent governors – they are elected from and by the parents of children at the school:
Four Local Authority governors - they are appointed by the Local Authority
Five Community governors – they are appointed by the Governing Body to represent the local community
Four Staff governors – they represent both the teaching and support staff and include the Head Teacher
One Sponsor governor – who represents the Co–Op, our sponsor.
The term of office for all governors is four years.
The Governing Body manages its work through six meetings of the full Governing Body every year and regular committee meetings. We have three committees:-
Students and Standards, Strategy and Communication and Finance and Personnel which meet to discuss important issues in more detail.
If you are interested in becoming a governor or in finding out more about the governing body or you would like to contact a governor, please leave a message with the school reception and they will pass it on to the Chair of Governors.
