A message from the Head Teacher

We are proud of our school, of our students, our staff and the education that we provide. Forest Gate is getting better and better; we expect our academic success to increase each year. But education is not just about examination results; we are proud, too, of the many extra-curricular activities our students can enjoy, in the arts, in sport, using computers and in visits and activities out of school. We are a mixed comprehensive school that caters for all the young people in the Forest Gate community; we welcome the diversity of our student population."

Every student matters to us; we want every student to do his or her very best. Indeed, our school motto is ‘Only our best'. We set high standards in all aspects of school life; in behaviour, in uniform, in completing homework, in caring for others. We believe that young people learn best where the rules are clear and fair, and I hope that every student and every family will support us in this matter.

Everybody at Forest Gate Community School staff, students and governors is excited about the future. In September 2004, we became Newham's first Business and Enterprise specialist college. We are delighted to be associated with the Co-operative Group, and you can find out more about the Group and their activities to support its 10 sponsored schools by checking on ‘links'."

We now have the most up-to-date Information and Communications facilities in our City Learning Centre at the heart of the school. We have improved both the appearance and security of the school site by installing new railings, electronically controlled gates, and CCTV coverage.

Alongside all the many marvellous new facilities and opportunities, we hold firm to the traditional values of education, good behaviour, discipline and high standards. We aim to afford the children and adults who learn in our school the best possible educational opportunities. This website is part of that provision.
