This team of a social inclusion manager and higher level teaching assistants works with students who are experiencing either short-term or long-term social, emotional or behavioural difficulties. The staff work with the student, their parents and external agencies when necessary in order to enhance the educational performance and social interaction of individual or groups of students with similar needs. Support can include one-to-one mentoring, small group project work which focuses on a particular issue, or in-class support in subjects the student finds most difficult.
This team works closely with learning mentors and their directors of study. Each person in this team acts as a ‘key worker’ for a number of students and will coordinate all the internal and external additional support provision.
