School Uniform

Uniform is very important. You may not think it makes you learn any better, but many people outside do think that, so it helps to create a good reputation for the school. Research suggests students behave better when in uniform.

This is important for you because when you leave, if people who might be giving you a job think that Forest Gate Community School is a good school, they will think better of you. Remember you are ambassadors for the school and your behaviour when in uniform, including going to and from school, reflects on Forest Gate Community School.

All items of clothing must have your name inside.

All students should have:

White polo shirt with school logo
White round necked "T" shirt (if needed)
Plain black or white head covering (for religious reasons)
Black "V" neck jumper with school logo
Plain matt black trousers
Plain matt black school length skirt
Plain matt black shalwar
Plain matt white kameez
Black or white socks
Plain black or skin coloured tights
Suitable plain black shoes
Outdoor coat a dark, plain (black or navy) - to be removed on entry to class

Students should not wear in school:

Hats, caps, hoods or bandanas
Blouses
Garments visible under the polo shirt
Non-uniform jumpers/sweatshirts
Patterned tights
Trainers, sandals, or high heels
Trousers/skirts/shalwars made of shiny, patterned, decorated or denim materials

If your son or daughter comes to school wearing non-uniform items, they will be confiscated or your child will be sent home to change.
